Hello A.J. West Students and Families -

I am so excited to welcome you back for the 2023-2024 school year. We have a great year ahead of us! My name is Nani Villarreal and I am happy to be returning as A.J. West's principal this year.

At A.J. West we believe that all students can learn. It is a privilege to teach your children and to partner with you in this endeavor. We strive to provide a vibrant, dynamic, equitable learning community where students feel belonging and ownership in their learning.

This is important work! I believe that education changes lives and opens doors to opportunity. I have confidence in our staff, students, and community, and look forward to all the possibilities this year holds.

Some important dates:
● Tuesday, Aug. 29 - Welcome Back Open House - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Come meet our staff and see your child’s classroom.
● Wednesday, Aug. 30 - 1st Day of School for grades 1-5, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Gates open
at 8:15 a.m.
● Tuesday, Sept. 5 - 1st Day of Kindergarten

School supplies will be provided for every student. Please provide your own backpack and shoes
for PE.
